(Luke 6:24-26)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
1Woe to you who are complacent in Zion, and to you who feel secure on Mount Samaria, you notable men of the foremost nation, to whom the people of Israel come!1“Woe to those who are at ease in Zion, and to those who feel secure on the mountain of Samaria, the notable men of the first of the nations, to whom the house of Israel comes!1Woe to those who are at ease in Zion And to those who feel secure in the mountain of Samaria, The distinguished men of the foremost of nations, To whom the house of Israel comes.1Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!1Woe to those who are at ease in Zion and to those who feel secure on the hill of Samaria-- the notable people in this first of the nations, those the house of Israel comes to.
2Go to Kalneh and look at it; go from there to great Hamath, and then go down to Gath in Philistia. Are they better off than your two kingdoms? Is their land larger than yours?2Pass over to Calneh, and see, and from there go to Hamath the great; then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are you better than these kingdoms? Or is their territory greater than your territory,2Go over to Calneh and look, And go from there to Hamath the great, Then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are they better than these kingdoms, Or is their territory greater than yours?2Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?2Cross over to Calneh and see; go from there to great Hamath; then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are you better than these kingdoms? Is their territory larger than yours?
3You put off the day of disaster and bring near a reign of terror.3O you who put far away the day of disaster and bring near the seat of violence?3Do you put off the day of calamity, And would you bring near the seat of violence?3Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;3You dismiss any thought of the evil day and bring in a reign of violence.
4You lie on beds adorned with ivory and lounge on your couches. You dine on choice lambs and fattened calves.4“Woe to those who lie on beds of ivory and stretch themselves out on their couches, and eat lambs from the flock and calves from the midst of the stall,4Those who recline on beds of ivory And sprawl on their couches, And eat lambs from the flock And calves from the midst of the stall,4That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;4They lie on beds inlaid with ivory, sprawled out on their couches, and dine on lambs from the flock and calves from the stall.

5You strum away on your harps like David and improvise on musical instruments.5who sing idle songs to the sound of the harp and like David invent for themselves instruments of music,5Who improvise to the sound of the harp, And like David have composed songs for themselves,5That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;5They improvise songs to the sound of the harp and invent their own musical instruments like David.
6You drink wine by the bowlful and use the finest lotions, but you do not grieve over the ruin of Joseph.6who drink wine in bowls and anoint themselves with the finest oils, but are not grieved over the ruin of Joseph!6Who drink wine from sacrificial bowls While they anoint themselves with the finest of oils, Yet they have not grieved over the ruin of Joseph.6That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.6They drink wine by the bowlful and anoint themselves with the finest oils but do not grieve over the ruin of Joseph.
7Therefore you will be among the first to go into exile; your feasting and lounging will end.7Therefore they shall now be the first of those who go into exile, and the revelry of those who stretch themselves out shall pass away.”7Therefore, they will now go into exile at the head of the exiles, And the sprawlers' banqueting will pass away.7Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.7Therefore, they will now go into exile as the first of the captives, and the feasting of those who sprawl out will come to an end.

The Pride of Israel

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
8The Sovereign LORD has sworn by himself--the LORD God Almighty declares: "I abhor the pride of Jacob and detest his fortresses; I will deliver up the city and everything in it."8The Lord GOD has sworn by himself, declares the LORD, the God of hosts: “I abhor the pride of Jacob and hate his strongholds, and I will deliver up the city and all that is in it.”8The Lord GOD has sworn by Himself, the LORD God of hosts has declared: "I loathe the arrogance of Jacob, And detest his citadels; Therefore I will deliver up the city and all it contains."8The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.8The Lord GOD has sworn by Himself--this is the declaration of Yahweh, the God of Hosts: I loathe Jacob's pride and hate his citadels, so I will hand over the city and everything in it.
9If ten people are left in one house, they too will die.9And if ten men remain in one house, they shall die.9And it will be, if ten men are left in one house, they will die.9And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.9And if there are 10 men left in one house, they will die.
10And if the relative who comes to carry the bodies out of the house to burn them asks anyone who might be hiding there, "Is anyone else with you?" and he says, "No," then he will go on to say, "Hush! We must not mention the name of the LORD."10And when one’s relative, the one who anoints him for burial, shall take him up to bring the bones out of the house, and shall say to him who is in the innermost parts of the house, “Is there still anyone with you?” he shall say, “No”; and he shall say, “Silence! We must not mention the name of the LORD.”10Then one's uncle, or his undertaker, will lift him up to carry out his bones from the house, and he will say to the one who is in the innermost part of the house, "Is anyone else with you?" And that one will say, "No one." Then he will answer, "Keep quiet. For the name of the LORD is not to be mentioned."10And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.10A close relative and burner will remove his corpse from the house. He will call to someone in the inner recesses of the house, "Any more with you?" That person will reply, "None." Then he will say, "Silence, because Yahweh's name must not be invoked."
11For the LORD has given the command, and he will smash the great house into pieces and the small house into bits.11For behold, the LORD commands, and the great house shall be struck down into fragments, and the little house into bits.11For behold, the LORD is going to command that the great house be smashed to pieces and the small house to fragments.11For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.11For the LORD commands: The large house will be smashed to pieces, and the small house to rubble.

12Do horses run on the rocky crags? Does one plow the sea with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into bitterness--12Do horses run on rocks? Does one plow there with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood—12Do horses run on rocks? Or does one plow them with oxen? Yet you have turned justice into poison And the fruit of righteousness into wormwood,12Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:12Do horses gallop on the cliffs; does anyone plow there with oxen? Yet you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood--
13you who rejoice in the conquest of Lo Debar and say, "Did we not take Karnaim by our own strength?"13you who rejoice in Lo-debar, who say, “Have we not by our own strength captured Karnaim for ourselves?”13You who rejoice in Lodebar, And say, "Have we not by our own strength taken Karnaim for ourselves?"13Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?13you who rejoice over Lo-debar and say, "Didn't we capture Karnaim for ourselves by our own strength?"
14For the LORD God Almighty declares, "I will stir up a nation against you, Israel, that will oppress you all the way from Lebo Hamath to the valley of the Arabah."14“For behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel,” declares the LORD, the God of hosts; “and they shall oppress you from Lebo-hamath to the Brook of the Arabah.”14"For behold, I am going to raise up a nation against you, O house of Israel," declares the LORD God of hosts, "And they will afflict you from the entrance of Hamath To the brook of the Arabah."14But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.14But look, I am raising up a nation against you, house of Israel-- this is the declaration of the Lord, the GOD of Hosts-- and they will oppress you from the entrance of Hamath to the Brook of the Arabah.
