Listen, you heavens, and I will speak; hear, you earth, the words of my mouth.1“Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak, and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.1"Give ear, O heavens, and let me speak; And let the earth hear the words of my mouth.1Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.1Pay attention, heavens, and I will speak; listen, earth, to the words of my mouth.
Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.2May my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, like gentle rain upon the tender grass, and like showers upon the herb.2"Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As the droplets on the fresh grass And as the showers on the herb.2My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:2Let my teaching fall like rain and my word settle like dew, like gentle rain on new grass and showers on tender plants.
I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!3For I will proclaim the name of the LORD; ascribe greatness to our God!3"For I proclaim the name of the LORD; Ascribe greatness to our God!3Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.3For I will proclaim Yahweh's name. Declare the greatness of our God!
He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.4“The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.4"The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.4He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.4The Rock--His work is perfect; all His ways are entirely just. A faithful God, without prejudice, He is righteous and true.

They are corrupt and not his children; to their shame they are a warped and crooked generation.5They have dealt corruptly with him; they are no longer his children because they are blemished; they are a crooked and twisted generation.5"They have acted corruptly toward Him, They are not His children, because of their defect; But are a perverse and crooked generation.5They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.5His people have acted corruptly toward Him; this is their defect--they are not His children but a devious and crooked generation.
Is this the way you repay the LORD, you foolish and unwise people? Is he not your Father, your Creator, who made you and formed you?6Do you thus repay the LORD, you foolish and senseless people? Is not he your father, who created you, who made you and established you?6"Do you thus repay the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is not He your Father who has bought you? He has made you and established you.6Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?6Is this how you repay the LORD, you foolish and senseless people? Isn't He your Father and Creator? Didn't He make you and sustain you?
Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father, and he will tell you, your elders, and they will teach you.
When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel.8When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.8"When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, When He separated the sons of man, He set the boundaries of the peoples According to the number of the sons of Israel.8When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.8When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance and divided the human race, He set the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the people of Israel.
For the LORD's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance.9But the LORD’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage.9"For the LORD'S portion is His people; Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance.9For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.9But the LORD's portion is His people, Jacob, His own inheritance.

In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye,10“He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.10"He found him in a desert land, And in the howling waste of a wilderness; He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the pupil of His eye.10He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.10He found him in a desolate land, in a barren, howling wilderness; He surrounded him, cared for him, and protected him as the pupil of His eye.
like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them aloft.11Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that flutters over its young, spreading out its wings, catching them, bearing them on its pinions,11"Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, That hovers over its young, He spread His wings and caught them, He carried them on His pinions.11As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:11He watches over His nest like an eagle and hovers over His young; He spreads His wings, catches him, and lifts him up on His pinions.
The LORD alone led him; no foreign god was with him.12the LORD alone guided him, no foreign god was with him.12"The LORD alone guided him, And there was no foreign god with him.12So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.12The LORD alone led him, with no help from a foreign god.
He made him ride on the heights of the land and fed him with the fruit of the fields. He nourished him with honey from the rock, and with oil from the flinty crag,13He made him ride on the high places of the land, and he ate the produce of the field, and he suckled him with honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock.13"He made him ride on the high places of the earth, And he ate the produce of the field; And He made him suck honey from the rock, And oil from the flinty rock,13He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;13He made him ride on the heights of the land and eat the produce of the field. He nourished him with honey from the rock and oil from flint-like rock,
with curds and milk from herd and flock and with fattened lambs and goats, with choice rams of Bashan and the finest kernels of wheat. You drank the foaming blood of the grape.14Curds from the herd, and milk from the flock, with fat of lambs, rams of Bashan and goats, with the very finest of the wheat— and you drank foaming wine made from the blood of the grape.14Curds of cows, and milk of the flock, With fat of lambs, And rams, the breed of Bashan, and goats, With the finest of the wheat-- And of the blood of grapes you drank wine.14Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.14cream from the herd and milk from the flock, with the fat of lambs, rams from Bashan, and goats, with the choicest grains of wheat; you drank wine from the finest grapes.

Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with food, they became heavy and sleek. They abandoned the God who made them and rejected the Rock their Savior.15“But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked; you grew fat, stout, and sleek; then he forsook God who made him and scoffed at the Rock of his salvation.15"But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked-- You are grown fat, thick, and sleek-- Then he forsook God who made him, And scorned the Rock of his salvation.15But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.15Then Jeshurun became fat and rebelled-- you became fat, bloated, and gorged. He abandoned the God who made him and scorned the Rock of his salvation.
They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols.16They stirred him to jealousy with strange gods; with abominations they provoked him to anger.16"They made Him jealous with strange gods; With abominations they provoked Him to anger.16They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.16They provoked His jealousy with foreign gods; they enraged Him with detestable practices.
They sacrificed to false gods, which are not God-- gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your ancestors did not fear.17They sacrificed to demons that were no gods, to gods they had never known, to new gods that had come recently, whom your fathers had never dreaded.17"They sacrificed to demons who were not God, To gods whom they have not known, New gods who came lately, Whom your fathers did not dread.17They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.17They sacrificed to demons, not God, to gods they had not known, new gods that had just arrived, which your fathers did not fear.
You deserted the Rock, who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth.18You were unmindful of the Rock that bore you, and you forgot the God who gave you birth.18"You neglected the Rock who begot you, And forgot the God who gave you birth.18Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.18You ignored the Rock who gave you birth; you forgot the God who gave birth to you.
The LORD saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters.19“The LORD saw it and spurned them, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.19"The LORD saw this, and spurned them Because of the provocation of His sons and daughters.19And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.19When the LORD saw this, He despised them, provoked to anger by His sons and daughters.

"I will hide my face from them," he said, "and see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children who are unfaithful.20And he said, ‘I will hide my face from them; I will see what their end will be, for they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.20"Then He said, 'I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end shall be; For they are a perverse generation, Sons in whom is no faithfulness.20And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.20He said: "I will hide My face from them; I will see what will become of them, for they are a perverse generation-- unfaithful children.
They made me jealous by what is no god and angered me with their worthless idols. I will make them envious by those who are not a people; I will make them angry by a nation that has no understanding.21They have made me jealous with what is no god; they have provoked me to anger with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are no people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.21They have made Me jealous with what is not God; They have provoked Me to anger with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation,21They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.21They have provoked My jealousy with their so-called gods; they have enraged Me with their worthless idols. So I will provoke their jealousy with an inferior people; I will enrage them with a foolish nation.
For a fire will be kindled by my wrath, one that burns down to the realm of the dead below. It will devour the earth and its harvests and set afire the foundations of the mountains.22For a fire is kindled by my anger, and it burns to the depths of Sheol, devours the earth and its increase, and sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.22For a fire is kindled in My anger, And burns to the lowest part of Sheol, And consumes the earth with its yield, And sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.22For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.22For fire has been kindled because of My anger and burns to the depths of Sheol; it devours the land and its produce, and scorches the foundations of the mountains."
"I will heap calamities on them and spend my arrows against them.23“‘And I will heap disasters upon them; I will spend my arrows on them;23'I will heap misfortunes on them; I will use My arrows on them.23I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.23I will pile disasters on them; I will use up My arrows against them.
I will send wasting famine against them, consuming pestilence and deadly plague; I will send against them the fangs of wild beasts, the venom of vipers that glide in the dust.24they shall be wasted with hunger, and devoured by plague and poisonous pestilence; I will send the teeth of beasts against them, with the venom of things that crawl in the dust.24They will be wasted by famine, and consumed by plague And bitter destruction; And the teeth of beasts I will send upon them, With the venom of crawling things of the dust.24They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.24They will be weak from hunger, ravaged by pestilence and bitter plague; I will unleash on them wild beasts with fangs, as well as venomous snakes that slither in the dust.

In the street the sword will make them childless; in their homes terror will reign. The young men and young women will perish, the infants and those with gray hair.25Outdoors the sword shall bereave, and indoors terror, for young man and woman alike, the nursing child with the man of gray hairs.25'Outside the sword will bereave, And inside terror-- Both young man and virgin, The nursling with the man of gray hair.25The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.25Outside, the sword will take their children, and inside, there will be terror; the young man and the young woman will be killed, the infant and the gray-haired man."
I said I would scatter them and erase their name from human memory,26I would have said, “I will cut them to pieces; I will wipe them from human memory,”26'I would have said, "I will cut them to pieces, I will remove the memory of them from men,"26I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:26I would have said: I will cut them to pieces and blot out the memory of them from mankind,

They are a nation without sense, there is no discernment in them.28“For they are a nation void of counsel, and there is no understanding in them.28"For they are a nation lacking in counsel, And there is no understanding in them.28For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.28Israel is a nation lacking sense with no understanding at all.
If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be!29If they were wise, they would understand this; they would discern their latter end!29"Would that they were wise, that they understood this, That they would discern their future!29O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!29If only they were wise, they would figure it out; they would understand their fate.

How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?30How could one have chased a thousand, and two have put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had given them up?30"How could one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, Unless their Rock had sold them, And the LORD had given them up?30How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?30How could one man pursue a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?

There on the mountain that you have climbed you will die and be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people.50And die on the mountain which you go up, and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died in Mount Hor and was gathered to his people,50"Then die on the mountain where you ascend, and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people,50And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:50Then you will die on the mountain that you go up, and you will be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people.
This is because both of you broke faith with me in the presence of the Israelites at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin and because you did not uphold my holiness among the Israelites.51because you broke faith with me in the midst of the people of Israel at the waters of Meribah-kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, and because you did not treat me as holy in the midst of the people of Israel.51because you broke faith with Me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribah-kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, because you did not treat Me as holy in the midst of the sons of Israel.51Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of MeribahKadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.51For both of you broke faith with Me among the Israelites at the waters of Meribath-kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin by failing to treat Me as holy in their presence.
Therefore, you will see the land only from a distance; you will not enter the land I am giving to the people of Israel."52For you shall see the land before you, but you shall not go there, into the land that I am giving to the people of Israel.”52"For you shall see the land at a distance, but you shall not go there, into the land which I am giving the sons of Israel."52Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.52Although from a distance you will view the land that I am giving the Israelites, you will not go there."
