The Siege of Jerusalem Predicted

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
1"Now, son of man, take a block of clay, put it in front of you and draw the city of Jerusalem on it.1“And you, son of man, take a brick and lay it before you, and engrave on it a city, even Jerusalem.1"Now you son of man, get yourself a brick, place it before you and inscribe a city on it, Jerusalem.1Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and pourtray upon it the city, even Jerusalem:1Now you, son of man, take a brick, set it in front of you, and draw the city of Jerusalem on it.
2Then lay siege to it: Erect siege works against it, build a ramp up to it, set up camps against it and put battering rams around it.2And put siegeworks against it, and build a siege wall against it, and cast up a mound against it. Set camps also against it, and plant battering rams against it all around.2"Then lay siege against it, build a siege wall, raise up a ramp, pitch camps and place battering rams against it all around.2And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.2Then lay siege against it: construct a siege wall, build a ramp, pitch military camps, and place battering rams against it on all sides.
3Then take an iron pan, place it as an iron wall between you and the city and turn your face toward it. It will be under siege, and you shall besiege it. This will be a sign to the people of Israel.3And you, take an iron griddle, and place it as an iron wall between you and the city; and set your face toward it, and let it be in a state of siege, and press the siege against it. This is a sign for the house of Israel.3"Then get yourself an iron plate and set it up as an iron wall between you and the city, and set your face toward it so that it is under siege, and besiege it. This is a sign to the house of Israel.3Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.3Take an iron plate and set it up as an iron wall between yourself and the city. Turn your face toward it so that it is under siege, and besiege it. This will be a sign for the house of Israel."
4"Then lie on your left side and put the sin of the people of Israel upon yourself. You are to bear their sin for the number of days you lie on your side.4“Then lie on your left side, and place the punishment of the house of Israel upon it. For the number of the days that you lie on it, you shall bear their punishment.4"As for you, lie down on your left side and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it; you shall bear their iniquity for the number of days that you lie on it.4Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity.4Then lie down on your left side and place the iniquity of the house of Israel on it. You will bear their iniquity for the number of days you lie on your side.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
5I have assigned you the same number of days as the years of their sin. So for 390 days you will bear the sin of the people of Israel.5For I assign to you a number of days, 390 days, equal to the number of the years of their punishment. So long shall you bear the punishment of the house of Israel.5"For I have assigned you a number of days corresponding to the years of their iniquity, three hundred and ninety days; thus you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.5For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.5For I have assigned you the years of their iniquity according to the number of days you lie down, 390 days; so you will bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
6"After you have finished this, lie down again, this time on your right side, and bear the sin of the people of Judah. I have assigned you 40 days, a day for each year.6And when you have completed these, you shall lie down a second time, but on your right side, and bear the punishment of the house of Judah. Forty days I assign you, a day for each year.6"When you have completed these, you shall lie down a second time, but on your right side and bear the iniquity of the house of Judah; I have assigned it to you for forty days, a day for each year.6And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.6When you have completed these days, lie down again, but on your right side, and bear the iniquity of the house of Judah. I have assigned you 40 days, a day for each year.
7Turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem and with bared arm prophesy against her.7And you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem, with your arm bared, and you shall prophesy against the city.7"Then you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem with your arm bared and prophesy against it.7Therefore thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and thine arm shall be uncovered, and thou shalt prophesy against it.7You must turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem with your arm bared, and prophesy against it.
8I will tie you up with ropes so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have finished the days of your siege.8And behold, I will place cords upon you, so that you cannot turn from one side to the other, till you have completed the days of your siege.8"Now behold, I will put ropes on you so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have completed the days of your siege.8And, behold, I will lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege.8Be aware that I will put cords on you so you cannot turn from side to side until you have finished the days of your siege."

The Defiled Bread

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
9"Take wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and spelt; put them in a storage jar and use them to make bread for yourself. You are to eat it during the 390 days you lie on your side.9“And you, take wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and emmer, and put them into a single vessel and make your bread from them. During the number of days that you lie on your side, 390 days, you shall eat it.9"But as for you, take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet and spelt, put them in one vessel and make them into bread for yourself; you shall eat it according to the number of the days that you lie on your side, three hundred and ninety days.9Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.9Also take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt. Put them in a single container and make them into bread for yourself. You are to eat it during the number of days you lie on your side, 390 days.
10Weigh out twenty shekels of food to eat each day and eat it at set times.10And your food that you eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day; from day to day you shall eat it.10"Your food which you eat shall be twenty shekels a day by weight; you shall eat it from time to time.10And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it.10The food you eat each day will be eight ounces by weight; you will eat it from time to time.
11Also measure out a sixth of a hin of water and drink it at set times.11And water you shall drink by measure, the sixth part of a hin; from day to day you shall drink.11"The water you drink shall be the sixth part of a hin by measure; you shall drink it from time to time.11Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink.11You are also to drink water by measure, a sixth of a gallon, which you will drink from time to time.
12Eat the food as you would a loaf of barley bread; bake it in the sight of the people, using human excrement for fuel."12And you shall eat it as a barley cake, baking it in their sight on human dung.”12"You shall eat it as a barley cake, having baked it in their sight over human dung."12And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.12You will eat it as you would a barley cake and bake it over dried human excrement in their sight."
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
13The LORD said, "In this way the people of Israel will eat defiled food among the nations where I will drive them."13And the LORD said, “Thus shall the people of Israel eat their bread unclean, among the nations where I will drive them.”13Then the LORD said, "Thus will the sons of Israel eat their bread unclean among the nations where I will banish them."13And the LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them.13The LORD said, "This is how the Israelites will eat their bread--ceremonially unclean--among the nations where I will banish them."
14Then I said, "Not so, Sovereign LORD! I have never defiled myself. From my youth until now I have never eaten anything found dead or torn by wild animals. No impure meat has ever entered my mouth."14Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I have never defiled myself. From my youth up till now I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has tainted meat come into my mouth.”14But I said, "Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I have never been defiled; for from my youth until now I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has any unclean meat ever entered my mouth."14Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.14But I said, "Oh, Lord GOD, I have never been defiled. From my youth until now I have not eaten anything that died naturally or was mauled by wild beasts. And impure meat has never entered my mouth."
15"Very well," he said, "I will let you bake your bread over cow dung instead of human excrement."15Then he said to me, “See, I assign to you cow’s dung instead of human dung, on which you may prepare your bread.”15Then He said to me, "See, I will give you cow's dung in place of human dung over which you will prepare your bread."15Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow's dung for man's dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith.15He replied to me, "Look, I will let you use cow dung instead of human excrement, and you can make your bread over that."
16He then said to me: "Son of man, I am about to cut off the food supply in Jerusalem. The people will eat rationed food in anxiety and drink rationed water in despair,16Moreover, he said to me, “Son of man, behold, I will break the supply of bread in Jerusalem. They shall eat bread by weight and with anxiety, and they shall drink water by measure and in dismay.16Moreover, He said to me, "Son of man, behold, I am going to break the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they will eat bread by weight and with anxiety, and drink water by measure and in horror,16Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:16Then He said to me, "Son of man, I am going to cut off the supply of bread in Jerusalem. They will anxiously eat bread rationed by weight and in dread drink water by measure.
17for food and water will be scarce. They will be appalled at the sight of each other and will waste away because of their sin.17I will do this that they may lack bread and water, and look at one another in dismay, and rot away because of their punishment.17because bread and water will be scarce; and they will be appalled with one another and waste away in their iniquity.17That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.17So they will lack bread and water; everyone will be devastated and waste away because of their iniquity."
