NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
A prophecy against Babylon that Isaiah son of Amoz saw:1The oracle concerning Babylon which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.1The oracle concerning Babylon which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.1The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.1An oracle against Babylon that Isaiah son of Amoz saw:
Raise a banner on a bare hilltop, shout to them; beckon to them to enter the gates of the nobles.2On a bare hill raise a signal; cry aloud to them; wave the hand for them to enter the gates of the nobles.2Lift up a standard on the bare hill, Raise your voice to them, Wave the hand that they may enter the doors of the nobles.2Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.2Lift up a banner on a barren mountain. Call out to them. Wave your hand, and they will go through the gates of the nobles.
I have commanded those I prepared for battle; I have summoned my warriors to carry out my wrath-- those who rejoice in my triumph.3I myself have commanded my consecrated ones, and have summoned my mighty men to execute my anger, my proudly exulting ones.3I have commanded My consecrated ones, I have even called My mighty warriors, My proudly exulting ones, To execute My anger.3I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.3I have commanded My chosen ones; I have also called My warriors, who exult in My triumph, to execute My wrath.
Listen, a noise on the mountains, like that of a great multitude! Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations massing together! The LORD Almighty is mustering an army for war.4The sound of a tumult is on the mountains as of a great multitude! The sound of an uproar of kingdoms, of nations gathering together! The LORD of hosts is mustering a host for battle.4A sound of tumult on the mountains, Like that of many people! A sound of the uproar of kingdoms, Of nations gathered together! The LORD of hosts is mustering the army for battle.4The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.4Listen, a tumult on the mountains, like that of a mighty people! Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations being gathered together! The LORD of Hosts is mobilizing an army for war.

They come from faraway lands, from the ends of the heavens-- the LORD and the weapons of his wrath-- to destroy the whole country.5They come from a distant land, from the end of the heavens, the LORD and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.5They are coming from a far country, From the farthest horizons, The LORD and His instruments of indignation, To destroy the whole land.5They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.5They are coming from a far land, from the distant horizon-- the LORD and the weapons of His wrath-- to destroy the whole country.
Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.6Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; as destruction from the Almighty it will come!6Wail, for the day of the LORD is near! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.6Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.6Wail! For the day of the LORD is near. It will come like destruction from the Almighty.
Because of this, all hands will go limp, every heart will melt with fear.7Therefore all hands will be feeble, and every human heart will melt.7Therefore all hands will fall limp, And every man's heart will melt.7Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:7Therefore everyone's hands will become weak, and every man's heart will melt.
Terror will seize them, pain and anguish will grip them; they will writhe like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at each other, their faces aflame.8They will be dismayed: pangs and agony will seize them; they will be in anguish like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at one another; their faces will be aflame.8They will be terrified, Pains and anguish will take hold of them; They will writhe like a woman in labor, They will look at one another in astonishment, Their faces aflame.8And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.8They will be horrified; pain and agony will seize them; they will be in anguish like a woman in labor. They will look at each other, their faces flushed with fear.
See, the day of the LORD is coming --a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger-- to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it.9Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the land a desolation and to destroy its sinners from it.9Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, Cruel, with fury and burning anger, To make the land a desolation; And He will exterminate its sinners from it.9Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.9Look, the day of the LORD is coming-- cruel, with rage and burning anger-- to make the earth a desolation and to destroy the sinners on it.

The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.10For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising, and the moon will not shed its light.10For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not flash forth their light; The sun will be dark when it rises And the moon will not shed its light.10For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.10Indeed, the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be dark when it rises, and the moon will not shine.
I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless.11I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will put an end to the pomp of the arrogant, and lay low the pompous pride of the ruthless.11Thus I will punish the world for its evil And the wicked for their iniquity; I will also put an end to the arrogance of the proud And abase the haughtiness of the ruthless.11And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.11I will bring disaster on the world, and their own iniquity, on the wicked. I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant and humiliate the insolence of tyrants.
I will make people scarcer than pure gold, more rare than the gold of Ophir.12I will make people more rare than fine gold, and mankind than the gold of Ophir.12I will make mortal man scarcer than pure gold And mankind than the gold of Ophir.12I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.12I will make man scarcer than gold, and mankind more rare than the gold of Ophir.
Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning anger.13Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place, at the wrath of the LORD of hosts in the day of his fierce anger.13Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, And the earth will be shaken from its place At the fury of the LORD of hosts In the day of His burning anger.13Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.13Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will shake from its foundations at the wrath of the LORD of Hosts, on the day of His burning anger.
Like a hunted gazelle, like sheep without a shepherd, they will all return to their own people, they will flee to their native land.14And like a hunted gazelle, or like sheep with none to gather them, each will turn to his own people, and each will flee to his own land.14And it will be that like a hunted gazelle, Or like sheep with none to gather them, They will each turn to his own people, And each one flee to his own land.14And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.14Like wandering gazelles and like sheep without a shepherd, each one will turn to his own people, each one will flee to his own land.

Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses will be looted and their wives violated.16Their infants will be dashed in pieces before their eyes; their houses will be plundered and their wives ravished.16Their little ones also will be dashed to pieces Before their eyes; Their houses will be plundered And their wives ravished.16Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.16Their children will be smashed to death before their eyes; their houses will be looted, and their wives raped.
See, I will stir up against them the Medes, who do not care for silver and have no delight in gold.17Behold, I am stirring up the Medes against them, who have no regard for silver and do not delight in gold.17Behold, I am going to stir up the Medes against them, Who will not value silver or take pleasure in gold.17Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.17Look! I am stirring up the Medes against them, who cannot be bought off with silver and who have no desire for gold.
Their bows will strike down the young men; they will have no mercy on infants, nor will they look with compassion on children.18Their bows will slaughter the young men; they will have no mercy on the fruit of the womb; their eyes will not pity children.18And their bows will mow down the young men, They will not even have compassion on the fruit of the womb, Nor will their eye pity children.18Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.18Their bows will cut young men to pieces. They will have no compassion on little ones; they will not look with pity on children.
Babylon, the jewel of kingdoms, the pride and glory of the Babylonians, will be overthrown by God like Sodom and Gomorrah.19And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the splendor and pomp of the Chaldeans, will be like Sodom and Gomorrah when God overthrew them.19And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, the glory of the Chaldeans' pride, Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.19And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.19And Babylon, the jewel of the kingdoms, the glory of the pride of the Chaldeans, will be like Sodom and Gomorrah when God overthrew them.

She will never be inhabited or lived in through all generations; there no nomads will pitch their tents, there no shepherds will rest their flocks.20It will never be inhabited or lived in for all generations; no Arab will pitch his tent there; no shepherds will make their flocks lie down there.20It will never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation; Nor will the Arab pitch his tent there, Nor will shepherds make their flocks lie down there.20It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.20It will never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation; a nomad will not pitch his tent there, and shepherds will not let their flocks rest there.
But desert creatures will lie there, jackals will fill her houses; there the owls will dwell, and there the wild goats will leap about.21But wild animals will lie down there, and their houses will be full of howling creatures; there ostriches will dwell, and there wild goats will dance.21But desert creatures will lie down there, And their houses will be full of owls; Ostriches also will live there, and shaggy goats will frolic there.21But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.21But desert creatures will lie down there, and owls will fill the houses. Ostriches will dwell there, and wild goats will leap about.
Hyenas will inhabit her strongholds, jackals her luxurious palaces. Her time is at hand, and her days will not be prolonged.22Hyenas will cry in its towers, and jackals in the pleasant palaces; its time is close at hand and its days will not be prolonged.22Hyenas will howl in their fortified towers And jackals in their luxurious palaces. Her fateful time also will soon come And her days will not be prolonged.22And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.22Hyenas will howl in the fortresses, and jackals, in the luxurious palaces. Babylon's time is almost up; her days are almost over.
