"Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!"2“Shall a faultfinder contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.”2"Will the faultfinder contend with the Almighty? Let him who reproves God answer it."2Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.2Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? 5I spoke once, but I have no answer-- twice, but I will say no more."5I have spoken once, and I will not answer; twice, but I will proceed no further.”5"Once I have spoken, and I will not answer; Even twice, and I will add nothing more."5Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.5I have spoken once, and I will not reply; twice, but now I can add nothing.

"Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.7“Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me.7"Now gird up your loins like a man; I will ask you, and you instruct Me.7Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.7Get ready to answer Me like a man; When I question you, you will inform Me.
"Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?8Will you even put me in the wrong? Will you condemn me that you may be in the right?8"Will you really annul My judgment? Will you condemn Me that you may be justified?8Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?8Would you really challenge My justice? Would you declare Me guilty to justify yourself?
Do you have an arm like God's, and can your voice thunder like his?9Have you an arm like God, and can you thunder with a voice like his?9"Or do you have an arm like God, And can you thunder with a voice like His?9Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?9Do you have an arm like God's? Can you thunder with a voice like His?

Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty.10“Adorn yourself with majesty and dignity; clothe yourself with glory and splendor.10"Adorn yourself with eminence and dignity, And clothe yourself with honor and majesty.10Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.10Adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, and clothe yourself with honor and glory.
Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at all who are proud and bring them low,11Pour out the overflowings of your anger, and look on everyone who is proud and abase him.11"Pour out the overflowings of your anger, And look on everyone who is proud, and make him low.11Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.11Unleash your raging anger; look on every proud person and humiliate him.
look at all who are proud and humble them, crush the wicked where they stand.12Look on everyone who is proud and bring him low and tread down the wicked where they stand.12"Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him, And tread down the wicked where they stand.12Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.12Look on every proud person and humble him; trample the wicked where they stand.
Bury them all in the dust together; shroud their faces in the grave.13Hide them all in the dust together; bind their faces in the world below.13"Hide them in the dust together; Bind them in the hidden place.13Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.13Hide them together in the dust; imprison them in the grave.
Then I myself will admit to you that your own right hand can save you.14Then will I also acknowledge to you that your own right hand can save you.14"Then I will also confess to you, That your own right hand can save you.14Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.14Then I will confess to you that your own right hand can deliver you.

"Look at Behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox.15“Behold, Behemoth, which I made as I made you; he eats grass like an ox.15"Behold now, Behemoth, which I made as well as you; He eats grass like an ox.15Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.15Look at Behemoth, which I made along with you. He eats grass like an ox.
What strength it has in its loins, what power in the muscles of its belly!16Behold, his strength in his loins, and his power in the muscles of his belly.16"Behold now, his strength in his loins And his power in the muscles of his belly.16Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.16Look at the strength of his loins and the power in the muscles of his belly.
Its tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of its thighs are close-knit.17He makes his tail stiff like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are knit together.17"He bends his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are knit together.17He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.17He stiffens his tail like a cedar tree; the tendons of his thighs are woven firmly together.
Its bones are tubes of bronze, its limbs like rods of iron.18His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like bars of iron.18"His bones are tubes of bronze; His limbs are like bars of iron.18His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.18His bones are bronze tubes; his limbs are like iron rods.
It ranks first among the works of God, yet its Maker can approach it with his sword.19“He is the first of the works of God; let him who made him bring near his sword!19"He is the first of the ways of God; Let his maker bring near his sword.19He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.19He is the foremost of God's works; only his Maker can draw the sword against him.

The hills bring it their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby.20For the mountains yield food for him where all the wild beasts play.20"Surely the mountains bring him food, And all the beasts of the field play there.20Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.20The hills yield food for him, while all sorts of wild animals play there.
Under the lotus plants it lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh.21Under the lotus plants he lies, in the shelter of the reeds and in the marsh.21"Under the lotus plants he lies down, In the covert of the reeds and the marsh.21He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.21He lies under the lotus plants, hiding in the protection of marshy reeds.
The lotuses conceal it in their shadow; the poplars by the stream surround it.22For his shade the lotus trees cover him; the willows of the brook surround him.22"The lotus plants cover him with shade; The willows of the brook surround him.22The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.22Lotus plants cover him with their shade; the willows by the brook surround him.
A raging river does not alarm it; it is secure, though the Jordan should surge against its mouth.23Behold, if the river is turbulent he is not frightened; he is confident though Jordan rushes against his mouth.23"If a river rages, he is not alarmed; He is confident, though the Jordan rushes to his mouth.23Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.23Though the river rages, Behemoth is unafraid; he remains confident, even if the Jordan surges up to his mouth.
Can anyone capture it by the eyes, or trap it and pierce its nose?24Can one take him by his eyes, or pierce his nose with a snare?24"Can anyone capture him when he is on watch, With barbs can anyone pierce his nose?24He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.24Can anyone capture him while he looks on, or pierce his nose with snares?
