The Oil for the Lamps

(Exodus 27:20-21)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
1The LORD said to Moses,1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,1Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,1The LORD spoke to Moses: "
2"Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually.2“Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil from beaten olives for the lamp, that a light may be kept burning regularly.2"Command the sons of Israel that they bring to you clear oil from beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually.2Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually.2Command the Israelites to bring you pure oil from crushed olives for the light, in order to keep the lamp burning continually.
3Outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps before the LORD from evening till morning, continually. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.3Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall arrange it from evening to morning before the LORD regularly. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.3"Outside the veil of testimony in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall keep it in order from evening to morning before the LORD continually; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations.3Without the vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations.3Aaron is to tend it continually from evening until morning before the LORD outside the veil of the testimony in the tent of meeting. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations.
4The lamps on the pure gold lampstand before the LORD must be tended continually.4He shall arrange the lamps on the lampstand of pure gold before the LORD regularly.4"He shall keep the lamps in order on the pure gold lampstand before the LORD continually.4He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the LORD continually.4He must continually tend the lamps on the pure gold lampstand in the LORD's presence."

The Showbread

(Exodus 25:23-30; Exodus 37:10-16)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
5"Take the finest flour and bake twelve loaves of bread, using two-tenths of an ephah for each loaf.5“You shall take fine flour and bake twelve loaves from it; two tenths of an ephah shall be in each loaf.5"Then you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it; two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake.5And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake.5Take fine flour and bake it into 12 loaves; each loaf is to be made with four quarts.
6Arrange them in two stacks, six in each stack, on the table of pure gold before the LORD.6And you shall set them in two piles, six in a pile, on the table of pure gold before the LORD.6"You shall set them in two rows, six to a row, on the pure gold table before the LORD.6And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD.6Arrange them in two rows, six to a row, on the pure gold table before the LORD.
7By each stack put some pure incense as a memorial portion to represent the bread and to be a food offering presented to the LORD.7And you shall put pure frankincense on each pile, that it may go with the bread as a memorial portion as a food offering to the LORD.7"You shall put pure frankincense on each row that it may be a memorial portion for the bread, even an offering by fire to the LORD.7And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD.7Place pure frankincense near each row, so that it may serve as a memorial portion for the bread and a fire offering to the LORD.
8This bread is to be set out before the LORD regularly, Sabbath after Sabbath, on behalf of the Israelites, as a lasting covenant.8Every Sabbath day Aaron shall arrange it before the LORD regularly; it is from the people of Israel as a covenant forever.8"Every sabbath day he shall set it in order before the LORD continually; it is an everlasting covenant for the sons of Israel.8Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.8The bread is to be set out before the LORD every Sabbath day as a perpetual covenant obligation on the part of the Israelites.
9It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in the sanctuary area, because it is a most holy part of their perpetual share of the food offerings presented to the LORD."9And it shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place, since it is for him a most holy portion out of the LORD’s food offerings, a perpetual due.”9"It shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him from the LORD'S offerings by fire, his portion forever."9And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.9It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in a holy place, for it is the holiest portion for him from the fire offerings to the LORD; this is a permanent rule."

Shelomith's Son Blasphemes

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
10Now the son of an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father went out among the Israelites, and a fight broke out in the camp between him and an Israelite.10Now an Israelite woman’s son, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the people of Israel. And the Israelite woman’s son and a man of Israel fought in the camp,10Now the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the sons of Israel; and the Israelite woman's son and a man of Israel struggled with each other in the camp.10And the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp;10Now the son of an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father was among the Israelites. A fight broke out in the camp between the Israelite woman's son and an Israelite man.
11The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name with a curse; so they brought him to Moses. (His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri the Danite.)11and the Israelite woman’s son blasphemed the Name, and cursed. Then they brought him to Moses. His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.11The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name and cursed. So they brought him to Moses. (Now his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.)11And the Israelitish woman's son blasphemed the name of the LORD, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:)11Her son cursed and blasphemed the Name, and they brought him to Moses. (His mother's name was Shelomith, a daughter of Dibri of the tribe of Dan.)
12They put him in custody until the will of the LORD should be made clear to them.12And they put him in custody, till the will of the LORD should be clear to them.12They put him in custody so that the command of the LORD might be made clear to them.12And they put him in ward, that the mind of the LORD might be shewed them.12They put him in custody until the LORD's decision could be made clear to them.
13Then the LORD said to Moses:13Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,13Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,13And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,13Then the LORD spoke to Moses: "
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
14"Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him.14“Bring out of the camp the one who cursed, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him.14"Bring the one who has cursed outside the camp, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then let all the congregation stone him.14Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.14Bring the one who has cursed to the outside of the camp and have all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then have the whole community stone him.
15Say to the Israelites: 'Anyone who curses their God will be held responsible;15And speak to the people of Israel, saying, Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin.15"You shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'If anyone curses his God, then he will bear his sin.15And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.15And tell the Israelites: If anyone curses his God, he will bear the consequences of his sin.
16anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD is to be put to death. The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.16Whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him. The sojourner as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.16'Moreover, the one who blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him. The alien as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.16And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death.16Whoever blasphemes the name of Yahweh is to be put to death; the whole community must stone him. If he blasphemes the Name, he is to be put to death, whether the foreign resident or the native."

An Eye for an Eye

(Matthew 5:38-48; Luke 6:27-36)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
17"'Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death.17“Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death.17'If a man takes the life of any human being, he shall surely be put to death.17And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.17If a man kills anyone, he must be put to death.
18Anyone who takes the life of someone's animal must make restitution--life for life.18Whoever takes an animal’s life shall make it good, life for life.18'The one who takes the life of an animal shall make it good, life for life.18And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.18Whoever kills an animal is to make restitution for it, life for life.
19Anyone who injures their neighbor is to be injured in the same manner:19If anyone injures his neighbor, as he has done it shall be done to him,19'If a man injures his neighbor, just as he has done, so it shall be done to him:19And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;19If any man inflicts a permanent injury on his neighbor, whatever he has done is to be done to him:
20fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury.20fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; whatever injury he has given a person shall be given to him.20fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; just as he has injured a man, so it shall be inflicted on him.20Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.20fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. Whatever injury he inflicted on the person, the same is to be inflicted on him.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
21Whoever kills an animal must make restitution, but whoever kills a human being is to be put to death.21Whoever kills an animal shall make it good, and whoever kills a person shall be put to death.21'Thus the one who kills an animal shall make it good, but the one who kills a man shall be put to death.21And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death.21Whoever kills an animal is to make restitution for it, but whoever kills a person is to be put to death.
22You are to have the same law for the foreigner and the native-born. I am the LORD your God.'"22You shall have the same rule for the sojourner and for the native, for I am the LORD your God.”22'There shall be one standard for you; it shall be for the stranger as well as the native, for I am the LORD your God.'"22Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.22You are to have the same law for the foreign resident and the native, because I am Yahweh your God."
23Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him. The Israelites did as the LORD commanded Moses.23So Moses spoke to the people of Israel, and they brought out of the camp the one who had cursed and stoned him with stones. Thus the people of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.23Then Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and they brought the one who had cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. Thus the sons of Israel did, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.23And Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.23After Moses spoke to the Israelites, they brought the one who had cursed to the outside of the camp and stoned him. So the Israelites did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
