(Mark 2:1-12; Luke 5:17-26)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
1Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town.1And getting into a boat he crossed over and came to his own city.1Getting into a boat, Jesus crossed over the sea and came to His own city.1And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.1So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own town.
2Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, "Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven."2And behold, some people brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven.”2And they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, "Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven."2And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.2Just then some men brought to Him a paralytic lying on a mat. Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, "Have courage, son, your sins are forgiven."
3At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, "This fellow is blaspheming!"3And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming.”3And some of the scribes said to themselves, "This fellow blasphemes."3And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.3At this, some of the scribes said among themselves, "He's blaspheming!"
4Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?4But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?4And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, "Why are you thinking evil in your hearts?4And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?4But perceiving their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why are you thinking evil things in your hearts?

5Which is easier: to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'?5For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’?5"Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, and walk '?5For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?5For which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, Get up and walk?
6But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." So he said to the paralyzed man, "Get up, take your mat and go home."6But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he then said to the paralytic— “Rise, pick up your bed and go home.”6"But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins "-- then He said to the paralytic, "Get up, pick up your bed and go home."6But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.6But so you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"--then He told the paralytic, "Get up, pick up your mat, and go home."
7Then the man got up and went home.7And he rose and went home.7And he got up and went home.7And he arose, and departed to his house.7And he got up and went home.
8When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.8When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men.8But when the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.8But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.8When the crowds saw this, they were awestruck and gave glory to God who had given such authority to men.

10While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples.10And as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Jesus and his disciples.10Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples.10And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.10While He was reclining at the table in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came as guests to eat with Jesus and His disciples.
11When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"11And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”11When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, "Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?"11And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?11When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, "Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
12On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.12But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.12But when Jesus heard this, He said, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.12But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.12But when He heard this, He said, "Those who are well don't need a doctor, but the sick do.
13But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."13Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”13"But go and learn what this means: 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."13But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.13Go and learn what this means: I desire mercy and not sacrifice. For I didn't come to call the righteous, but sinners."

15Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.15And Jesus said to them, “Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.15And Jesus said to them, "The attendants of the bridegroom cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.15And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.15Jesus said to them, "Can the wedding guests be sad while the groom is with them? The time will come when the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.

The Patches and Wineskins

(Mark 2:21-22; Luke 5:36-39)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
16"No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse.16No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch tears away from the garment, and a worse tear is made.16"But no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and a worse tear results.16No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.16No one patches an old garment with unshrunk cloth, because the patch pulls away from the garment and makes the tear worse.
17Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved."17Neither is new wine put into old wineskins. If it is, the skins burst and the wine is spilled and the skins are destroyed. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.”17"Nor do people put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."17Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.17And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the skins burst, the wine spills out, and the skins are ruined. But they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."

21She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed."21for she said to herself, “If I only touch his garment, I will be made well.”21for she was saying to herself, "If I only touch His garment, I will get well."21For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.21for she said to herself, "If I can just touch His robe, I'll be made well!"
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
22Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed at that moment.22Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And instantly the woman was made well.22But Jesus turning and seeing her said, "Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well." At once the woman was made well.22But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.22But Jesus turned and saw her. "Have courage, daughter," He said. "Your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that moment.

And they began laughing at Him.24He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.24"Leave," He said, "because the girl isn't dead, but sleeping." And they started laughing at Him.
25After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up.25But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.25But when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.25But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.25But when the crowd had been put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.

28When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord," they replied.28When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.”28When He entered the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."28And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.28When He entered the house, the blind men approached Him, and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I can do this?"" Yes, Lord," they answered Him.
29Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith let it be done to you";29Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.”29Then He touched their eyes, saying, "It shall be done to you according to your faith."29Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.29Then He touched their eyes, saying, "Let it be done for you according to your faith!"
30and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, "See that no one knows about this."30And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, “See that no one knows about it.”30And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them: "See that no one knows about this!"30And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.30And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus warned them sternly, "Be sure that no one finds out!"
31But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region.31But they went away and spread his fame through all that district.31But they went out and spread the news about Him throughout all that land.31But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.31But they went out and spread the news about Him throughout that whole area.

Jesus Heals a Mute Man

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
32While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus.32As they were going away, behold, a demon-oppressed man who was mute was brought to him.32As they were going out, a mute, demon-possessed man was brought to Him.32As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.32Just as they were going out, a demon-possessed man who was unable to speak was brought to Him.
33And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel."33And when the demon had been cast out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, “Never was anything like this seen in Israel.”33After the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed, and were saying, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel."33And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.33When the demon had been driven out, the man spoke. And the crowds were amazed, saying, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel!"
34But the Pharisees said, "It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons."34But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the prince of demons.”34But the Pharisees were saying, "He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons."34But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.34But the Pharisees said, "He drives out demons by the ruler of the demons!"

The Sheep and the Harvest

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
35Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.35And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction.35Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.35And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.35Then Jesus went to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness.
36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.36Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd.36But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.36When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were weary and worn out, like sheep without a shepherd.
37Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.37Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;37Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.37Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;37Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few.
38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."38therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”38"Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest."38Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.38Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest."
